What are the Rules of the 2019 Global Bible Initiative Golf Marathon?
These rules will help with the pace of play and allow participants the best chance to golf as many holes as possible. Your safety and well-being are our top priority so all of these rules are geared with that in mind.
Each golfer will have their own golf cart.
A sunrise shotgun start will take place with two golfers teeing off on each hole. You can play any hole in any order, or any hole over and over, it's your choice!
You can play up to 2 balls per hole if you want and it will count as 2 holes.
If a hole is busy, drive around and play the next available hole, no need to go in order.
There is a maximum of 7 strokes allowed per hole, per ball.
Aim for 8-10 minutes per hole.
Play extremely Ready golf, but traditional course etiquette still applies. No practice swings required!
Play ends at 4:30 PM.
Dinner, brief GBI presentation and awards to follow at 5 PM.
Hazards and Penalties
There will not be any lost ball penalties. We don’t want you to spend time searching for lost balls. If you don’t drive right up to it, or locate it within 30 seconds, simply drop a ball near where you expected it to be and play on without any penalty.
There will no out of bounds penalties. If you hit a ball out of bounds, simply drop a ball within 2 club lengths of where the ball went out of bounds and play on without penalty.
There will be no water hazard penalties. If you hit a ball in the water hazard, simply drop a ball within 2 club lengths of where the ball went in the hazard and play on without penalty.
Don’t pull the flag sticks.
Any putt within 2-3 feet from the hole is considered "good."
No more than 2 putts per green.
Scoring and Prizes
Although score is not of primary importance, we will award prizes (Men's and Women's) for the Most Holes Played. Therefore, scorecards are being provided for you to turn in.
Prizes will be awarded for Longest Drive, Most Holes Played, and Most Funds Raised (Men's and Women's for each category).
