BT ColLab, short for Bible Translation Collaboration, is a collaborative lab designed for innovation on removing barriers to Bible translation by applying the latest in computer science, linguistics, and Biblical scholarship. We work with the best and brightest technologists inside and outside the Bible translation industry to come up with solutions to complex problems that can help move the Bible translation ecosystem forward.
The design and implementation of syntactic Greek and Hebrew trees as well as the power of aligning translated texts to the original Greek and Hebrew are all innovations developed within BT Collab.
Currently, we are working on the feasibility of using AI/neural machine translation to translate Biblical resources like commentaries and study notes to dramatically scale the amount of Biblical resources available in multiple languages. We are experimenting with building custom models on top of IBM/Google’s technology to optimize the translation of Bible-related texts.
